"Love 'Em or Lose 'Em: An Engagement and Retention Workshop for Managers"
This highly interactive learning event from Career Systems International, is based on the research and concepts behind the book Love 'Em or Lose 'Em: Getting Good People to Stay, by Beverly Kaye and Sharon Jordan-Evans. The workshop is designed to show managers the influence and impact they have in retaining and engaging their talent. The learning experience helps managers identify their own talent at risk and provides an opportunity for them to assess their strengths and skills as talent-focused managers. Participants are introduced to 26 practical low-cost or no-cost strategies they can implement immediately. By participating in skill-building activities, managers develop and action-based engagement plan for their team members.
By participating in this workshop, participants will:
- Understand the importance of engaging and retaining employees at all levels in today's era of talent shortages, baby boomer retirements, and an economic slowdown
- Identify and discuss specific challenges and opportunities within their teams and work units
- Use assessment tools to help build individual engagement plans
- Learn how to have valuable engagement conversations with their team members
- Be prepared to take ownership os their role as a talent-focused leader, skills to succeed, actions to implement, and a process to follow
Participants will receive a full "tool kit" that includes a copy of the book, Love 'Em or Lose 'Em, a workbook, several assessment and feedback tools, and an action planner .
